The Friends of the Hadleigh Practice
was formed by a group of volunteer patients in 1995 with the following aims:
To compile a register of volunteers
to help with various projects when required.
To raise health awareness
by holding health education meetings and lectures.
To inform patients of changes
and developments in the Practice.
To enable patients to express
their viewpoints about their care.
To raise funds.
To this end the Friends of the Practice
hold coffee mornings and raffles regularly on the first Monday in the month at
Hadleigh House and the third Monday at Hadleigh Lodge. A newsletter is produced
3 times per year to inform patients of changes within the Practice forthcoming
events. Patient surveys are conducted in an effort to improve services and to
ascertain patient needs. Education meetings are held regularly throughout the
year with locally based doctors and consultants speaking on popular medical topics.
We need your help!!
You may know that the patient group, The Friends of the Hadleigh Practice (FOTHP), does a lot of sterling work for the patients of the practice.
Examples include stewarding the ‘Flu Clinics every year and organising events for patients. We also decide how any donations of money to the Practice can be spent most beneficially for our patients. The FOTHP is involved in gathering patient opinions – for example by helping the Practice staff to carefully plan occasional surveys. These surveys help the Practice to offer the best possible service.
But now it is we who need your help. We need to boost our membership and would love to hear from anyone who is a patient at the Hadleigh Practice (Broadstone or Corfe Mullen).
Do you have the odd hour or two to spare each month and would you like to join our committee? We are a very friendly bunch who are all committed to supporting the Hadleigh patients in any way we can.
Interested? Please give me a ring and I can tell you more about us.
